NEW MEXICO: Versatile offensive lineman who moved to tackle from center in 2011...has a good knowledge on the innerworkings of all five line spots...trained behind first team all-MWC center Erik Cook during his redshirt season in 2009...Cook is now with the Washington Redskins...teammates voted Farrell the Lobos' Most Valuable Offensive Scout in 2009...continues to improve his strength in the weight room and will be a staple up front for the Lobos in 2012...a late bloomer who, amazingly, was 5-8 and 160 pounds as a ninth grader.
2011 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in all 12 games, with six starts at right tackle. two starts at left tackle and one start at center...shared the team Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award with center LaMar Bratton...helped the offense generate 415 yards of offense in the 21-14 win over UNLV. 2010 (FRESHMAN): Started all 12 games at center for the Lobos...the first UNM freshman to start at center since Ryan Cook in 2002...Cook became a four-year starter, was first team all-MWC his final three seasons and was a 2nd-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2006...Farrell logged 694 plays during his first full season...steadily improved throughout the year and gained experience that will benefit him as his career progresses.
HIGH SCHOOL: First-team all-state offensive lineman as chosen by the coaches and the media following his senior year of 2009...Christian Life was 12-2 in 2008, finishing second in class 1A, which is the smallest classification in the state...one of 70 students in his graduating class...participated in the U.S. Army Redstick Bowl, a postseason all-star game in Baton Rouge...a four-year starter who was all-district as a junior...also played on the defensive line for head coach Warren Capone...Senior Class President.
