Explosive linebacker who was one of the Lobos' most improved players on defense as a senior...strictly a special teamer in his first Division I season in 2008, he thrived in the new 4-3 defense...turned in an outstanding spring practice season and won the starting OLB spot opposite standout Clint McPeek during training camp...one of the Lobos' biggest hitters on defense and an aggressive player who went full speed on every snap...made a lot of big plays and improved his play diagnosis so that he was in good position more consistently...enrolled at UNM in the summer of 2008 after transferring from Copiah-Lincoln CC in Wesson, Miss.

2009 (SENIOR): Ranked 4th on the team with 75 tackles (37 solo) and tied for the MWC lead with 3 forced fumbles (T-34th nationally) in his first 12 Division I starts...6.5 tackles for loss (5 solo, 3 assisted) and 3 QB hurries/hits...92-yard fumble return for a TD...28 tackles (11 solo), 3.0 TFL, and 3 forced fumbles in his final 4 games...co-defensive player of the game vs. Tulsa...team captain in weeks 1 and 3...earned the Lobo Club Award for Unselfish Devotion To Team at the postseason banquet.

`09 HIGHLIGHTS:
at No. 4 TCU...Capped his career with a strong effort against the MWC champs...got in on 6 tackles, including one in the backfield, and forced another fumble...also had a QB hurry.

vs. Colorado State...Got in on 5 tackles, matching a season-high with 1.5 tackles for loss...teamed with fellow LB Clint McPeek to stuff Ram RB John Mosure in the backfield to help force a late 3-and-out that set up the Lobos' game-winning drive.

vs. No. 22 BYU...Played one of his best games of the year to help lead a gritty defensive effort...team-high 8 tackles (6 solo), including 1 for loss...also forced a fumble with 3 minutes remaining to give UNM a chance at a game-winning drive.

at No. 14 Utah...Strong effort with 9 tackles (4 solo), including a forced fumble.

vs. Tulsa...8 stops (6 solo) and a TFL...scooped up a fumble at the UNM 8 and went 92 yards for a TD early in the 4th quarter...added a QB hurry.

at Texas A&M...A bright spot defensively in his first D-I start...game-high 12 tackles (5 solo), including a pair in the backfield (1.5 officially)...also notched a QB hurry.

2008 (JUNIOR): Played in 11 games, primarily on special teams...7 of his 13 tackles came in kickoff coverage, including a pair of hits and forced fumbles against San Diego State...season-high 4 tackles vs. SDSU...fumble recovery at Tulsa.

COPIAH-LINCOLN CC: All-state and all-Region XXIII linebacker in 2007 for for head coach Glenn Davis...posted 90 tackles, 16 hurries, 7 sacks and 4 forced fumbles...the Wolfpack finished 9-3 in 2006, including a 21-0 victory over Georgia Military College in the Golden Isles Bowl Classic.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Bastrop (La.) HS...led Bastrop to a perfect 15-0 record and the 4A state championship as a senior...limited to seven games his senior season due to a torn right ACL...still had 114 tackles, 5 sacks and 4 forced fumbles for head coach Brad Bradshaw...also competed in powerlifting.
