NEW MEXICO: Returning letterman and former junior college All-American who manned the starting left tackle spot for the first half of his first Division I season last fall before taking a leave of absence (personal reasons)...turned in an excellent spring to climb atop the depth chart once again...coaches say he has done everything right on and off the field since returning to the team in 2008...knows the offense and is technically sound...working on improving his physical play...made solid gains across the board in the weight room during the offseason...has also done a good job keeping his weight down, playing 30 pounds leaner than he did at junior college...enrolled at UNM in January of `07 and had an action-packed spring, getting plenty of reps at both guard and tackle...eventually secured the starting job at left tackle with a fine training camp performance last year...has a baby daughter, Kayla, who was born on Nov. 1, 2006.

2007 (JUNIOR): Did a solid job in his first 6 Division I games, including 5 starts at left tackle...took a leave of absence in week 5 to deal with some personal issues and missed 2 games (vs. BYU, at Wyoming) before returning against San Diego State...left the team again in November after a spot start vs. Air Force and missed the remainder of the season...finished with 18.5 knockdowns, 2 sacks allowed and 2 penalties on the year. `07 Highlights: vs. Air Force...Returned to the starting lineup for the first time in 4 games...96% assignment mark and 6 KD blocks in 77 snaps...helped Rodney Ferguson pound out 146 yards on 41 carries...also also did a fine job of drawing the defense's attention on a trick play that resulted in a wide open game-tying 2-point conversion catch by TE Chris Mark...vs. Sacramento State...Back tightened up in the 2nd quarter, but he came back to help the offense pile up 499 yards and 58 points...missed just 2 assignments in 59 snaps (97%)...only 1 KD block, but didn't allow any pressure on the QB and had no penalties...vs. New Mexico State...Part of another fine performance by The Hitmen who allowed the offense to put up 496 yards and 44 points...graded out at 71% overall, including a 94% assignment mark...5.5 KD blocks, no sacks allowed and no penalties...at UTEP...Solid effort in his first Division I game, starting at left tackle...posted a overall performance grade of 70% (92% assignment grade) and tallied 4 knockdown blocks to help pave the way for Rodney Ferguson's 132-yard day...did not allow any sacks or hits on the QB.

DODGE CITY CC: Second team All-America offensive lineman at Dodge City (Kan.) Community College in 2006...played for coach Marcus Garstecki.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of East Gadsden HS in Quincy, Fla., which is northwest of Tallahassee... 3-time all-conference performer on the offensive line, plus he lettered 3 years in basketball for the Bulldogs...played football for head coach Robert Jackson...had 17 tackles and blocked a punt for the game-winning TD in one prep game...received the Bright Futures Scholarship.
