Promising safety who coaches believe should be one of the key members of the UNM secondary in 2004...continued to improve his technique and knowledge of the system during a strong spring season and will battle veteran Kevin Walton for the starting spot at the left wolf (strong) safety position during preseason practice...is an outstanding athlete who is becoming more confident in his ability with every snap he plays...needs to continue to develop the mental toughness required to be a consistent impact player...coaches would also like to see him increase his lower-body strength in the weight room...was very raw last year, in what was just his second full football season since 1996...athletic ability eventually led to a role as a solid special teams contributor in `03...did not play high school football after his freshman year...walked on to the football team at Ellsworth Community College (Iowa Falls, Iowa) in 2001...recently became a father when daughter Khaliah Amysha was born Feb. 23, 2004

2003 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in 11 games, including the final 9, competing mostly on the kick coverage team...tallied 7 tackles on the year, including 3 in 29 snaps in his Lobo debut vs. Texas State

ELLSWORTH CC:

Did not play his first year after breaking his hand...returned to notch 40 tackles, 15 pass break-ups and two interceptions from his free safety position in 2002...played for head coach John Sala...also played basketball at Ellsworth...once appeared in a basketball and football game in the same day...returned an interception for a game-winning TD, then, four hours later, finished the basketball game wtih 11 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks

HIGH SCHOOL:

A 2000 graduate of Miami area Carol City HS...lettered in basketball and track...averaged 16 points, 7 rebounds and two steals per game as a senior...competed in the 400 and high jump in the spring
