NEW MEXICO: Returning letterman who will battle for time at offensive tackle this fall...penciled in behind senior Sylvester Hatten to open training camp, but coaches plan to give him plenty of reps...was enjoying a solid spring before being slowed with an ankle injury...a little raw last year in his Division I debut after missing the 2006 season with a knee injury, but is an impressive athlete for his size and coaches believe he has a strong upside...also put up excellent numbers in the weight room during the offseason to earn the team Beefmaster award for players weighing 300 pounds or more...345 bench, 348 power clean and 500-pound max in the squat...enrolled at UNM in July of 2007 after signing late on June 12...has two years of eligibility remaining...played one year at College of the Siskiyous in northern California (Weed) and took a medical redshirt in 2006.

2007 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in two games at right tackle...played 14 snaps in his D-I debut vs. Sacramento State and had 3 plays late in the Lobos' New Mexico Bowl victory.

COLLEGE OF THE SISKIYOUS: Started the first 10 games as a freshman in 2005 but tore a knee ligament and missed the rest of the season...injured the knee again in the second game of the 2006 season and took a medical redshirt...played for head coach Eric Young.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2005 graduate of South Salem (Ore.) High School...three-sport standout in football, basketball and track and field...didn't start playing football until his sophomore year of high school.
