NEW MEXICO:Three-year letterman who has gameday experience playing both tackle and guard...won the starting right guard job during spring practice, but coaches say he needs to become more assignment sound in order to secure the spot...an aggressive, physical player who has continued to improve with each year in the program...opened the 2005 season as the starting tackle before giving way to Anthony Kilby.2005 (JUNIOR): Appeared in three games...shared time at tackle with Anthony Kilby early in the year...helped spell injured starter Terrance Pennington at San Diego State, playing a career-high 47 snaps and recording 4 KD blocks...also 18 snaps in the season-opener vs. UNLV and 16 off the bench vs. New Mexico State. 2004 (SOPHOMORE): Played 11 snaps in his lone appearance at New Mexico State and notched one knockdown block. 2003 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Appeared in two games...played 29 offensive snaps and had a pair of knockdowns vs. Texas State in the season-opener...got on the field for one play vs. Utah State.
HIGH SCHOOL:A 2002 graduate of Ruidoso (N.M.) HS...Four-year letterman and a three-year starter on the offensive and defensive lines at Ruidoso (N.M.) HS...played for coach Les Carter...played defensive tackle all three years...positioned at offensive tackle as a sophomore before moving to guard his last two years...all-state guard as a senior and honorable mention all-state on defense...also the Warriors' deep snapper...exceled in wrestling as well, finishing second in the state as a sophomore and taking the heavyweight title as a junior...34-2 record on the mat in 2002 and finished second in state.
