NEW MEXICO: Transfer from Citrus (Calif.) College who played in seven career games for the Lobos before getting hurt in 2011...one of the most athletic players on the team, but missed the entire 2012 season after undergoing foot surgery in August...had been enjoying an excellent spring season until an injury sidelined him for the maority of practice...prior to 2011, Lewis last played for Pima (Ariz.) Community College in 2008.
2011 (SENIOR): Had surgery to repair an injured foot in the preseason and missed the entire year.
2011 (JUNIOR): Seven games with one start before missing the final portion of the season with a knee injury...finished with three tackles on the year.
PERSONAL: Graduated from Shawnee Mission (Kan.) South High School...parents are Diana Hickson and Albert Lewis...father was an NFL All-Pro defensive back, playing 11 years with the Kansas City Chiefs and five with the Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders.
