NEW MEXICO: Former tailback who moved over to defense this past spring...is one of the most gifted athletes on the team and could be a great asset on defense and special teams this fall...needs more experience with the defensive assignments and continued development in the classroom, but has the potential to be a real impact player on gameday...two games in limited special teams action last year and appeared in two games at tailback as a true freshman in 2006, but took a medical redshirt after having his knee scoped...had 7 carries for 19 yards and a long of 9 in limited action vs. New Mexico State and Missouri.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Rio Rancho (N.M.) High School...Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of New Mexico from Rio Rancho HS...first team all-state running back who gained 1,954 yards on 257 carries and scored 25 TDs as a senior...the Rams were 8-3 and advanced to the playoffs before losing to Alamogordo...also honorable mention all-state as a junior...a starter at free safety his first two years...played for head coach Phil Lopez...wrestled in the 215-lb. class and was a sprinter for the track team...a 3.3 GPA, Love read to elementary students and was a speaker for Red Ribbon Week, a drug prevention program.
