NEW MEXICO: Three-year tight end, who played in 11 games in 2009...used in double-tight situations and special teams...converted quarterback who moved over to tight end two springs ago...showed nice potential at the position during spring practice, particularly as a receiver... good speed (4.72 in the 40) and athletic ability, and has added over 25 pounds to his frame since arriving on campus...needs to continue to develop in the weight room, however, to help his blocking in the trenches...older brother Josh played baseball at UNM from 2002-04 while cousins Jeff (football/baseball) and Tim Grady (baseball) were Lobos as well.

HIGH SCHOOL:A 2008 graduate of Albuquerque Cibola High School...honorable mention all-state quarterback who led Cibola to a 10-2 season in 2007...the Cougars fell to eventual state champ Las Cruces Mayfield in the semifinals...district and metro player of the year, completing 87 of 167 passes for 1,654 yards and 22 TDs, and just 8 interceptions...also 501 rushing yards and 4 TDs...1,650 yards passing and 19 TDs and 431 rushing and 7 TDs his junior season...played for head coach Judge Chavez...a four-year letterman for the basketball team and he threw the javelin in track.
