NEW MEXICO:

Returning starter and two-year letterman who established himself as a dangerous red zone target in 2007 and is primed to emerge as one of the top tight ends in the Mountain West Conference in 2008...at 6-6, 257, he has prototypical size for the position...gets himself open downfield, has good, soft hands and has made great improvement in his run blocking...coaches say his confidence is much improved and believe he is ready to take the next step in his development to become a more consistent offensive threat...will be counted on to play a bigger role in the passing game in '08 to help offset the loss of 1,000-yard receivers Travis Brown and Marcus Smith...displayed a strong work ethic and enjoyed a productive spring season...also made good strides in the weight room...375 max in the bench and squats 455...just 13 career receptions (167 yards), but 4 have gone for TDs...also has 2 2-point conversion grabs...faced a great deal of competition for the starting job last year, but proved to be the most consistent and best all-around performer of the group...Academic All-MWC honoree in '06.

2007 (JUNIOR):
Was a valuable offensive weapon in 13 games (11 starts)...12 catches for 147 yards (12.2 avg.) and 3 TDs (3rd on the team), including a season-long 26-yard score...also pulled a pair of game-tying 2-point conversions vs. BYU and Air Force...excellent job blocking as well, sealing the edge to spring long runs to the perimeter and doing a solid job in pass protection.

`07 Highlights: vs. Nevada (New Mexico Bowl)...One grab for 20 yards, blasting the Wolf Pack DB as he went out of bounds, to set-up a 2nd quarter FG...fine job of blocking as well, helping to clear the way for the Lobos' 194 rushing yards...vs. UNLV...Lone catch was a 15-yard grab down to the 1 yard line, setting up Rodney Ferguson's TD plunge...also did a nice job blocking, helping the Lobos pound out 171 rushing yards...vs. Colorado State...Slipped past the secondary to pull in a 6-yard TD on a 3rd down play for his only catch of the day...also a solid job of blocking to help clear the way for Rodney Ferguson's 110-yad rushing effort...vs. Air Force...Grabbed a 12-yard TD and game-tying 2-point conversion on back-to-back plays to close the 1st half...lone receptions of the night, but also did a fine job clearing the way for Rodney Ferguson's 146 rushing yards...vs. New Mexico State...Lone catch was a big one as he went a career-long 26 yards for a 4th quarter TD to secure the Lobo victory...also helped UNM put up 154 rushing yards and did not allow a sack...at UTEP...Turned in the best game of his career, finishing with 4 grabs for 34 yards...2 receptions went for 1st downs, including a 19-yard sliding catch across the middle on a Lobo FG drive...also did a solid job up front, helping clear the way for the Lobos' 193 rushing yards and did not allow a sack.

2006 (SOPHOMORE):
Played in 12 games off the bench...was used primarily as a run-blocker in limited action...took his first and only career reception 20 yards for a TD to cap the Lobos' bowl-clinching victory vs. San Diego State.

HIGH SCHOOL:

A 2004 graduate of Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas...first team all-state tight end who caught 10 passes for 180 yards and 1 TD as a senior...started at defensive end his junior year...played for head coach Dave White...also a starter on the basketball team.
