NEW MEXICO:Powerful, physically imposing athlete who is primed to become one of the top linebackers in the MWC as a second-year starter in 2007...spent his first three years on offense, playing 10 games at wide receiver/tight end, and special teams before switching to LB late in 2005...enjoyed a breakthrough season last fall as he continued to get more comfortable and confident on defense each week...big and incredibly strong, he will come up and deliver a blow...displayed much improved speed and reaction time during the spring...made one of the top plays of the '07 Cherry-Silver game when he ran down explosive WR Marcus Smith on a 54-yard screen pass and forced a fumble...has been phenomenal in the weight room throughout his career, setting program records at every position he's played, including a LB record 384-pound power clean during the spring of `06...has put up 385 in the bench and upped his squat to 500 pounds this past spring...was slowed by injuries his first two years...broke his left ankle early in 2004 and tore the ACL in his right knee while redshirting as a true freshman...married the former Briahna Wilson in February of `06...the couple has a baby boy, Major Mosley IV, born Dec. 18 - five days before the 2006 New Mexico Bowl.2006 (JUNIOR): Did a fine job in his first 13 games (all starts) on defense...recorded 39 tackles and was one of the top playmakers on an aggressive, active defense...his 7.5 tackles for loss (6 solo, 3 assists) and 4.0 sacks (3 solo, 2 assists) were both third on the team...also had 3 pass break-ups, forced a fumble, had 2 fumble recoveries (including a 32-yard return) and 7 QB hurries. `06 HIGHLIGHTS: vs. San Diego State...Turned in one of the best games of his young defensive career, recording 5 tackles (4 solo), including 2.5 in the backfield and a 5-yard sack...also credited with 2 QB hurries in 43 snaps...the 2nd quarter sack on a 2nd-and-3 play helped knock the Aztecs out of field goal range...vs. TCU...Part of a sensational defensive performance against one of the league's most balanced offenses...got in on a pair of tackles and had a QB hurry to help the Lobos limit the Horned Frogs to a season-low 192 yards of total offense, nearly 200 under their season average...TCU had just 29 rushing yards (1.8 avg.) and 1 first down in the 2nd half...at Colorado State...Excellent effort, recording a season-high 6 tackles to help shut down the Rams' running game (37 yards on 26 carries - 1.4 avg.)...teamed with Michael Tuohy on a 4-yard sack and did not miss a tackle in 59 plays...at UNLV...Secured the Lobos' first-ever overtime road win when he sacked and stripped QB Shane Steichen on the Rebels first play of the OT period, following a Lobo FG...also teamed with NT Billy Brittain to sack starter Rocky Hinds in the first quarter on a 3rd-and-long play...finished with 3 tackles in 40 snaps...vs. UTEP...Got in on 4 tackles and recorded his first career sack when he chased down QB Jordan Palmer for an 11-yard loss on a 3rd down play deep in UNM territory, forcing the Miners to settle for a long FG...recovered Palmer's fumble on the 3rd play of the game to set up the first Lobo TD...also had a QB hurry and helped shut down the UTEP running game (30 yds., 1.3 avg.)...vs. Missouri...Made both tackles in the Tiger backfield, throwing TB Tony Temple for a 7-yard loss on the 2nd play of the game...at New Mexico State...Active throughout the game in an incredible 91 snaps...finished with 5 tackles, broke up a pass and had a QB hurry...was involved in one of the plays of the game when he scooped up an Aggie fumble at the UNM 2-yard line and returned it 32 yards, leading to an eventual Lobo FG...vs. Portland State...Good effort in his first career appearance on defense...recorded 3 tackles and batted down two passes...just missed on a couple of sacks. 2005 (SOPHOMORE): Played in five games on special teams and in spot offensive duty...moved to the defensive side of the ball late in the year, learning the LB position in practice. 2004 (Redshirt Freshman): Appeared in the first 5 games of the year, mostly on special teams, before suffering a broken left ankle during practice...did not play the rest of the season, but made his way on to the practice field late in the year.
