NEW MEXICO:

Retuning letterman who is one of the best true tight ends in the Mountain West Conference...lines up next to the tackle in a 3-point stance on almost every play and has equal receiving and blocking responsibilities...was the Lobos' top receiving tight end in his first Division I season last fall and has really flourished, when healthy, as a point of emphasis in Bob Toledo's expanded passing attack...does not wear gloves, but has perhaps the best hands on the team and knows how to get separation from defenders downfield...has added 25 pounds since arriving at UNM and is an improving blocker...enrolled at UNM in January of 2004...aspiring sports writer who wrote an online blog for the Albuquerque Journal website in 2005...spent two years at Palomar College in San Marcos, Calif...comes from quite a sports family as his father and an uncle played FB for Illinois, while his mom played basketball for the Illini...3 other uncles played FB at Notre Dame, Arizona State and Purdue, respectively, and his gradfather was in the Chicago Cubs organization in the 1950s...last name is pronounced mul-KRONE.

CAREER HIGHS:

Receptions: 3, four times.
Receiving Yards: 84, at New Mexico State (9/9/06).
Receiving TDs: 1, three times.
Longest Catch: 48 yards, at New Mexico State (9/6/06).

2006 (SENIOR): Was enjoying an outstanding first half of the season in his first year as a starter before suffering a high ankle sprain early in the week 6 game vs. Wyoming...sat out the second half against the Cowboys, missed the next game vs. UNLV and played sparingly off the bench in week 8 vs. Utah...still ranks third on the team with 16 catches for 246 yards...his receiving yards are already the most by a Lobo TE since 1994 when all-WAC selection and eventual NFL All-Pro David Sloan had 320...receptions are the most by a UNM TE since 2002 (Bryan Penley - 17)...has done a nice job getting open downfield, averaging 15.4 yards per catch (2nd on the team)...also helping clear a path for MWC-leading rusher Rodney Ferguson with his blocking in the trenches.

at Colorado State...Lone catch was probably the biggest of the game - a 23-yard grab to get UNM into range for the game-winning FG with less than 2 minutes to play in the 4th quarter...it was his first catch since spraining his ankle 3 weeks earlier.

vs. Wyoming...Suffered a severely sprained ankle on the 7th play of the game, but gutted out the rest of the first half, grabbing a pair of passes for 9 yards, including one to covert a third down play...was sidelined most of the 2nd half.

at Air Force...Tied a career-high with 3 receptions (47 yards)...2 catches went for 1st downs, including a long of 20.

vs. Missouri...Bottled up early, but made 3 tough grabs for 49 yards in the 2nd half - all of which went for 1st downs...diving 17-yard catch to set-up the Lobos' final TD...also had a 7-yard reception on 3rd-and-3 and a 25-yard catch-and-run to set-up a 3rd quarter FG.

at New Mexico State...Career-highs of 3 catches for 84 yards, including a career-long 48-yard reception to set up a FG...got the Lobos on the board with a 17-yard TD grab in the 1st quarter.

vs. Portland State...Grabbed 2 passes for 22 yards, including a long of 20...got open several times downfield, but the stiff crosswind carried the ball out of reach.

2005 (JUNIOR): Played a significant role off the bench in his first D-I season, rotating with senior starter Logan Hall...led the UNM tight ends with 12 receptions for 132 yards (11.0 avg.), including a pair of TDs, in 11 games (1 start)...catches were the most by a Lobo TE since Bryan Penley had 17 in 2002...rapidly improved as a blocker during the course of the season, recording 39 knockdowns...vs. Air Force...Lone catch went for 27 yards in the 3rd quarter...also recorded a season-high 8 knockdown blocks...vs. Colorado State...Made his first career start as the Lobos opened in a double TE formation...finished with a pair of catches for 10 yards...first grab was good for 10 yards on a 3rd-and-9 play...at Wyoming...Grabbed a season-high 3 passes for 16 yards...2 catches went for 1st downs on Lobo scoring drives...made an oustanding shoe string catch to convert a 4th-and-2 play, allowing the Lobos to kick a FG at the end of the 1st half...9-yard catch on 2nd-and-11 on the Lobos' go-ahead TD drive late in the 3rd...vs. New Mexico State...Caught a 17-yard TD on the Lobos' first possession of the game and finished with 2 receptions for 25 yards...also matched his season total with 5 KD blocks in 34 snaps...at Missouri...Pulled in a 6-yard pass for his first career TD on the opening drive...also had a knockdown in 22 plays...vs. UNLV...Picked up 32 yards on his first D-I catch to set up the Lobos' second TD...also added 4 KD blocks in 33 snaps.
