NEW MEXICO: Returning letterwinner who has worked hard to put himself in position to be a regular gameday contributor this fall...extremely smart player and coaches say he is one of the most physical linebackers on the team...has bulked up significantly in the past year, adding nearly 20 pounds to his frame...needs to keep improving his foot speed, but has good athletic ability...coaches want to see him make a name for himself as a linebacker and a top special teams player this season...joined the team as a walk-on in the fall of 2006 and spent his first two seasons on the practice squad before making his debut in the fall of 2008...knee injury last spring slowed his development a bit in 2008, but is coming off an excellent fall, backing up sophomore Carmen Messina at middle linebacker.

2009 (JUNIOR): Saw action in 12 games at linebacker...recorded 12 tackles and had 4 games with 2 stops.

2008 (SOPHOMORE): Played in 3 games, primarily covering kicks...6 defensive snaps late vs. San Diego State (week 8)...2 assisted tackles on the year.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Bishop Amat HS in La Puente, Calif...first team all-league and all-valley selection for head coach Mike DiFiori...two-year letterman and he owned the highest GPA on the team...selected to play in the East-West Shrine All-Star Game after his senior year.
