NEW MEXICO:

Three-year starter who was one of the premier cover men in the Mountain West...turned his finest season in 2008, earning consensus first team all-MWC honors after being an Honorable Mention pick his first two years...he and 2007 1st team all-MWC selection DeAndre Wright gave UNM one of the top cornerback tandems in the country in their three years together and led the Lobo pass defense to a No. 20 national ranking in 2007...a big-hitting, lock-down corner, he used outstanding technique and physical play to frustrate opposing receivers...sensational against outside runs and screens...156 tackles, a school record 32 pass break-ups (4th MWC) and 7 interceptions in just 36 career games (34 starts)...went 22 straight games without a pick, but snared all 7 career INTs in his final 14 games...also had 7.5 career tackles for loss - the most ever by a UNM corner...made an impact as a kick returner as well, averaging 28.9 yards on 15 career returns...a real student of the game who often arrived early to meetings to squeeze in a little extra study time in the film room and was one of the first players on the practice field...named team captain by his teammates - the first CB in head coach Rocky Long's 11-year tenure to hold the position...one of the most powerful players in the program, earning the team Beefmaster award in `08 (200 lbs. and under)...put up 360 in the bench, 328 in the power clean, 500 in the squat and 305 in the incline press...also set a UNM defensive back record with a 40.6" vertical jump...enrolled at UNM in Jan. of `06 after spending two years at Southwest Mississippi CC in Summit, Miss...took over the starting job at left corner - a position formerly occupied by three-time all-MWC performer Gabriel Fulbright...also active off the field as a former representative in the UNM Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)...earned invites to the East-West Shrine Game and NFL Scouting Combine...first name is pronounced GLOW-vur.

2008 (SENIOR): First team all-MWC selection who established himself as perhaps the finest cornerback in the league, disrupting opponents' passing game down the left side of the field and providing tremendous run/screen support each week...voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates - the first defensive back since Brian Urlacher in 1999 and first corner ever to win the award...led the MWC (T-19th nationally, 0.42/game) with a career-high 5 interceptions (95 yards) and ranked 1st in the league (T-8th nationally, 1.33/game) with 16 passes defended, including 11 break-ups...53 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss (4 solo, 1 assisted) - the most ever by a Lobo cornerback...missed just 5 tackles all year long...also had a 29-yard fumble return...6 long passes (15+ yards) allowed all year, with 3 coming in a rare struggle by the entire Lobo secondary on the road against Tulsa's elite passing offense...no long passes the final 4 weeks and allowed just 4 TD passes in his final 24 games...battled through a knee injury that required offseason surgery, but was the lone CB from the Lobos' training camp 2-deep to play all 12 games in `08...was just 2 returns shy of qualifying for the MWC kick return rankings, but would have been the league leader with a 32.3-yard average on his 10 returns this fall...had 5 returns of 30+ yards, including a long of 63.

Defended 2 passes, breaking up the Rams' 4th down pass to the end zone from the 2-yard line and intercepting a pass at the UNM 10 (19-yard return)...didn't allow any long passes in man coverage and did a nice job of eliminating perimeter runs to his side of the field...(at UNLV) Excellent performance against a high-octane passing attack...was targeted 6 times in man coverage, breaking up 2 passes and allowing just 1 completion for 7 yards...outstanding special teams effort as well, returning 2 kicks for 77 yards with a long of 43 that set up a 3rd quarter FG...(vs. No. 9 Utah)...6 tackles (4 solo) and a acrobatic PBU on a deep pass in man coverage...helped hold the MWC's top scoring offense 26 points under its average...0 missed tackles...(at Air Force)...Got upfield to make 5 tackles in run support, including a TFL, and gave the Falcons no place to throw the ball downfield...helped hold Air Force to 228 yards on the night - 164 under its season average...(vs. San Diego State)...Snared an INT on the Aztecs' opening posession to set-up the Lobos' 46-yard TD drive...also had a diving deflection and 4 tackles in 3 quarters of work in the blowout victory...UNM held SDSU to 161 yards passing - 79 under its average...(vs. Wyoming)...No tackles, but was outstanding in coverage to help limit the Cowboys to just 71 yards passing...was thrown at 3 times, but didn't allow any completions...notched a PBU in coverage acrosss the middle...had another TFL negated by an offside penalty...1 kick return for 23 yards...(at New Mexico State)...Outstanding bounce-back game, notching 3 tackles, a solo tackle for loss, and a pass break-up...was targeted just twice in man coverage and didn't allow any long passes...just missed his 4th INT of the year when he jumped a deep sideline route...helped the Lobo defense shut down explosive QB Chase Holbrook in the 2nd half after a slow start...(at Tulsa)...Courageous effort, recording 2 interceptions and 4 tackles, while playing all 79 defensive snaps on a humid night...mistimed his jump when he gave up his first TD pass since 2006, but came right back to make a text book INT on a fade route to the end zone...stopped another drive deep in UNM territory with a 65-yard INT return...also returned a fumble 87 yards for an apparent 1st quarter TD before replay officials ruled the play an incomplete pass...(vs. Arizona)...Turned in one of the best performances of his career to help lead the Lobos' nationally televised upset of the Wildcats...was all over the field, getting in on a season-high 8 tackles, including one for loss...also had an interception, 2 pass break-ups and a fumble recovery en route to MWC Defensive Player of the Week honors...picked up a fumble on the opening play of the 2nd half and returned it 29 yards to the Arizona 10 to set-up a Lobo TD...broke up a 4th-and-2 pass from the UNM 22 in the 4th quarter and picked off QB Willie Tuitama on the next posession to set-up a FG...led a stellar defensive effort that held the previously undefeated Wildcats 28 points and 99 yards under their season average...allowed his first long pass of the season on a tied posession catch that went to the instant replay booth...73 defensive snaps...(vs. Texas A&M)...Got in on 6 tackles, including a big hit to drop Aggie standout RB Mike Goodson for a 5-yard loss in the backfield...broke up a pass deep in UNM territory and helped hold the Aggies to just 144 passing yards on the day...(vs. TCU)...4 tackles, including a tackle for loss to blow up a WR screen, and no long passes allowed in 62 snaps...was only thrown at twice on the day.

2007 (JUNIOR):
Honorable Mention all-MWC selection who overcame a serious injury to re-join teammate DeAndre Wright as one of the top corners in the MWC during the second half of the season...gutted through the first 2 games of the year with a painful groin injury and eventually missed 2 weeks after undergoing surgery in the early morning hours immediately after the New Mexico State game...returned to part-time action in week 5 vs. BYU and played his first pain-free game of the season at Wyoming (week 6) following the bye week...the Lobos' pass defense was markedly better with Quin back to 100%, allowing an average of just 161 passing yards the final 8 games with him completely healthy...UNM gave up an average of 255.6 passing yards in its first 5 games while he was injured...tied for second on the team with 8 pass break-ups to go along with 2 interceptions - all in the last 8 games...his 10 passes defended in MWC play was tied for 3rd in the league...didn't allow any touchdowns and gave up just 7 long passes (15+ yards) all year...finished with 40 tackles, including a TFL and several big hits.

`07 HIGHLIGHTS: vs. Nevada (New Mexico Bowl)...6 tackles (4 solo), including 5 in the decisive first half, and was excellent in run support...ranked fifth nationally in pass efficiency during the regular season, Nevada completed just 13-31 (42%) passes for 137 yards...vs. UNLV...Lobos' defensive player of the game, recording the first 2 INTs of his career and 2 more PBUs to help limit the Rebels to just 142 passing yards and a 38% completion rate (15-40)...first pick was one of the defensive plays of the year in the MWC as he skyed to grab a pass intended for a WR 10-yards behind him...later jumped a short route for a diving INT...4 solo stops and allowed just one completion...vs. Air Force...3 tackles, didn't allow any long passes and had a physical break-up on a deep pass into Lobo territory at the end of the 1st half...didn't allow any long passes and helped Herbert Felder force the victory-clinching fumble at the Falcons' final drive...at San Diego State...Impressive performance in his return to the starting lineup...3 sure tackles, 0 long passes allowed and broke up a 3rd-and-5 pass to help the Lobo secondary hold the MWC's No. 2 passing team 139 yards under its average...at Wyoming...Looked completely healthy for the first time this year and played the majority of snaps on the left side despite coming off the bench...gave up one long pass (19 yards), but finished the play with the hit of the game...4 stops and got upfield for a 2-yard TFL deep in Lobo territory to help hold UW to a FG...vs. New Mexico State...Courageous effort against a high powered passing offense...did not allow any long passes and came up to make 6 tackles in 53 snaps...underwent surgery just hours after the game to relieve pain and swelling in his injured groin.

2006 (SOPHOMORE): Honorable Mention all-MWC pick who improved his consistency in coverage and confidence within the defensive scheme in each of his 13 starts...led the MWC with 12 pass break-ups and was second in the league, behind teammate DeAndre Wright, with 12 passes defended...was outstanding in run support and shooting up field to defeat screen passes and runs to the perimeter...ranked 3rd on the team (29th MWC) with 63 tackles, which was the most by a UNM corner since Art Celestine had 72 in 1995...also had 2 tackles for loss, forced and recovered a fumble...8 PBUs in 8 conference games (1st MWC).

`06 HIGHLIGHTS: New Mexico Bowl (vs. San Jose State)...Quietly enjoyed an excellent game against the Spartans' talented wide receivers...did not allow any long passes, batted down a ball and had 4 tackles...vs. San Diego State...Four tackles, including a stop behind the line of scrimmage...big hit across the middle broke up the Aztecs 4th-and-3 pass deep in UNM territory on the final play of the game...also credited with a hurry when he pressured and knocked down Aztec kicker Garrett Palmer to force an incompletion on a fake field goal attempt...at No. 23 BYU...Recorded three tackles and broke-up a 3rd-and-6 pass before leaving with a neck injury...did not play in the second half...vs. TCU...Big part of a sensational performance by the defense which held one of the league's most balanced offenses to a season-low 192 yards - nearly 200 under its average...eliminated the TCU wide receivers, recording another break-up as the Horned Frogs finished with a mere 25 yards passing, including 8 yards on 13 attempts over the final 3 quarters...held leading receiver Quintily Harmon without a catch as the TCU receivers combined to catch 1 pass for 3 yards on the day...the Frogs entered the game averaging 207 yards through the air...also fired upfield to notch 4 tackles to stuff outside runs and stop short passes for minimal gain...at Colorado State...Outstanding performance against a prolific passing offense...recorded a game and career-high 9 tackles (8 solo) and knocked away two passes...recorded his first tackle for loss and sent a Ram WR limping to the sideline with a big hit on the sideline...was in perfect position on the lone deep pass he allowed, a remarkable diving, one-handed stab by Damon Morton for a 30-yard TD...vs. Utah...Excellent effort, recording 4 solo tackles and a textbook break-up of a deep 3rd-and-8 pass to stop a Ute drive at midfield...also returned 2 kicks for 59 yards, including a season-long of 30...vs. Wyoming...Solid performance to help hold the Cowboys to just 204 passing yards...made 6 tackles and did not allow any deep balls...vs. UTEP...Notched 8 tackles and helped the Lobo secondary turn in an excellent performance against the Miners' prolific passing attack...UTEP had just 211 passing yards and star WR Johnnie Lee Higgins, the nation's receiving yardage leader (126 avg.), finished with 3 catches for 18 yards...also teamed with NT Wesley Beck to stuff Miner TB Marcus Thomas for no gain on a 4th-and-1 play from the UNM 11 in the 2nd quarter...vs. Missouri...Turned in one of the best games of his young career, recording 5 tackles and a career-high 3 pass break-ups as the Lobos held the explosive Tiger offense 130 yards under its season average...did an outstanding job in man coverage, helping to hold Mizzou's leading receiver, Sr. Brad Ekwerekwu, without a catch...just missed his first INT when he jumped in front of a 3rd down pass to Ekwerekwu late in the 1st half...at New Mexico State...Had his ups-and-downs against the Air Raid offense, but kept his head in the game and made a game-changing play in the 3rd quarter...stripped the ball from an Aggie ball-carrier at the UNM 3-yard line, which teammate Major Mosley returned 32 yards to set up a Lobo FG...also recovered a fumble in the 4th quarter...broke up a pass and had 7 tackles on the night.

SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI CC:

Posted 40 tackles, 8 deflections, 2 interceptions and a TD in 2005 for head coach Dom Green...broke his right arm the second game of the 2004 season and missed the remainder of the year.

HIGH SCHOOL:

A 2004 graduate of North Pike HS in Summit...four-year letterman in football and basketball, and he was the Jaguar's team MVP in both sports as a senior...totaled 2,552 rushing yards, 224 tackles and 13 interceptions in his prep career...played for head coach Adam Barron...received the U.S. Army Scholar-Athlete Award.
