NEW MEXICO: Third-year offensive guard who could push for time at either position during training camp...strong, physical player who has played both guard and tackle since arriving at UNM...coaches would like to see him keep his weight regulated, but say he could be a factor up front in 2008...redshirted last fall after transferring to UNM from Moorpark College in January of '06...academically ineligible in 2007, but spent the fall on the offensive scout team...has made massive jumps in the weight room since joining the program...went up to a 328 max in the power clean and improved his squat to an offensive line best 585...benches 350...last name is pronounced "stride"...spent the 2004 season at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif...the Cougars were 14-0 and state champs.
