NEW MEXICO: Riding the momentum of a productive 2012 season, the walk-on from Rio Rancho High School has added 10 pounds to his frame in the 2013 offseason ... a heady ball player who understand the game and has natural instincts ... a tremendous competitor on defense and on special teams.
2012 (SOPHOMORE): Played in all 13 games with six starts at cornerback ... finished with 37 tackles, two pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery and return for 12 yards ... had a career-long 30-yard punt return in the season finale against Colorado State ... tied for the team lead with seven solo tackles against Fresno State on Oct. 27 and finished second on the team with 10 total tackles ... also returned two punts against the Bulldogs ... started his third game of the season against Air Force on Oct. 20 and recorded the first forced fumble and first fumble recovery of his career ... the forced fumble and fumble recovery came late in the fourth quarter and he returned it 12 yards ... finished the game against the Falcons with three tackles (two solo, one assist) and returned his first punt of the season, taking a kick back for 15 yards in the second quarter ... led the Lobos in total tackles (nine) and solo (seven) against Hawaii on Oct. 13 to set a new career-high in both categories ... broke up his second pass of the season against the Warriors.
2011 (FRESHMAN): Played the last five games of the season as a true freshman walk-on...became a key in the return game with two kickoff returns for a 17.5-yard average and a 1.0-yard average on three punt returns...also saw spot duty in the secondary.
