NEW MEXICO: Two-year veteran on the defensive line...should be in the mix for a starting position in 2012...full name is Ugochukwu (OO-go CHUK-woo) Uzodinma (OO-zo-DIN-ma)...parents Joel and Florence both hail from Nigeria...transferred from Illinois after the 2008 season and has emerged as a key contributor at UNM...former Illini and Washington D. C. Dunbar High School teammate Reggie Ellis also transferred to New Mexico in 2009 and will compete for an open DT job as well...enrolled at New Mexico in August of 2009 and provided an immediate benefit to the Lobo offense with his presence on the defensive scout team...big, powerful athlete with next-level physique who is hungry to make a name for himself on gameday...has two years of eligibility remaining...redshirted the 2008 season at Illinois.

2011 (JUNIOR): Played in all 12 games with three starts...finished with 24 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one forced fumble...had three tackles in four different games, including week two against No. 13 Arkansas where he also had a sack and a forced fumble.

2010 (SOPHOMORE): Started and played in 11 games during his first action in nearly three years...did not play against Utah in Week 3...finished the season with 27 tackles...had a great game against New Mexico State with nine tackles, two TFL, a forced fumble and a sack...finished the year with 3.5 TFL.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Washington D.C. Dunbar High School...earned honorable mention All-Metro honors from the Washington Post...recorded 72 tackles, including 12.5 quarterback sacks...posted an additional 5.5 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries as a senior, helping Dunbar to a 7-2 record...recorded his best game, seven tackles and two for loss, vs. Archbishop Carroll...Washington Post All-District first-team...named to the All-DCSportsfan second team...posted eight sacks as a junior.
