NEW MEXICO:

Excellent receiving tight end who will open preseason camp backing up junior Chris Mark, but could be a valuable contributor on gameday... has perhaps the best hands in the TE group and provides a challenge for linebackers in man coverage...great concentration when the ball is in the air...has added 11 pounds to his frame over the past year and made good progress in the weight room, but needs to continue to improve his strength and sharpen his blocking technique in order to be an every-down player...missed nearly all of his redshirt season in 2005 with a knee injury.

2006 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Appeared in 9 games on special teams and in spot offensive duty...long catch of the year went for 14 yards at New Mexico State.

HIGH SCHOOL:

A 2005 graduate of ThunderRidge HS in Highlands Ranch, Colo., which is located south of Denver...two-year starter who was an honorable mention all-state tight end as a senior, leading the Grizzlies to the Class 4A championship...caught 20 passes for 464 yards and 6 TDs and he was the team's leading tackler on special teams...played for head coach Joe Johnson...also played basketball for one of the state's top-ranked teams...a 3.5 cumulative GPA and member of the National Honor Society.
