NEW MEXICO: Begins his second year with the program after enrolled at UNM in January of 2011...graduated early from high school...athletic quarterback with leadership skills and all the physical tools...missed part of 2011 redshirt season because of shoulder surgery...still ranks second in seniority among the quarterbacks in the program, behind only senior B.R. Holbrook.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year starter at quarterback for Raton High School...played for his uncle, Brock Walton...passed for more than 8,000 yards in his career...had 89 touchdowns during his four-year career, compared to only 22 interceptions...surpassed the 3,000-yard passing plateau his final two seasons...was a two-time all-district player in 2008-09...named the District Player of the Year in 2009...two-time all-state selection in 2009 and 2010...also played wide receiver in 2008 and had 29 receptions for 303 yards and seven TDs...had a 36-13 team record during his four years at RHS...was 20-6 as the starting quarterback...won three District 2A championships...also played basketball.
