Former University of New Mexico All-American Brian Urlacher was recently named to the 2000s NFL All-Decade Team. The Chicago Bears star was one of 53 selected to the team, which is chosen by the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee every 10 years. Urlacher was joined by Derrick Brooks, Ray Lewis, Joey Porter, Zach Thomas and DeMarcus Ware at the linebacker position.
The Lovington, N.M. product was the ninth overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft and still holds several records at New Mexico including No.1 on the season tackles list with 178 in 1998. Urlacher was a consensus All-America pick as a senior in 1999 and finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award.
