RUIDOSOS, N.M. --- The University of New Mexico football team spent nearly three hours of their off day Sunday having dinner with fans and supporters in the village of Ruidoso. The community event, which ran from 4-7 p.m., brought hundreds of people out to meet the 2010 Lobos. The event was held on the back patio at The Lodge at Sierra Blanca, where the team is being housed.

The event was open to the public as fans poured onto the patio for the meet-and-greet session. Fans were able to get photographs with players and coaches as well as autographs. A local live band kept the crowd entertained, as did the dance off contest. Local steppers demonstrated their skills for the crowd and challenged the Lobo players. Senior OT Byron Bell and junior DE Jaymar Latchison were up for the challenge as well as WR Bryant Williams, LB Julion Conley and LB Joe Harris.

Sunday is the only off day scheduled while the team is in Ruidoso. The Lobos return to the practice field Monday from 3:30-6 p.m. All practices are open to the public. UNM will hold its final scrimmage of training camp on Aug. 21 from 5-7:30 p.m. at Horton Field before departing for Albuquerque.
