NEW MEXICO A senior who was named as one of Golf World's Top 50 Collegiate Male Players to watch in 2012-13...an outstanding leader both on the golf course and academically...played on the team in all 14 tournaments in 2011-12.2011-12 (JUNIOR): Led the Lobos with a 71.83-stroke average per round...his average round score is the fifth best single-season average in UNM history...ranked in the top 50 in the nation by GolfWeek.com...won the first tournament of his collegiate career at the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson, Ariz., on Jan. 30-31, 2012 with a 10-under 203...finished in the top 10 in nine of the Lobos' 14 tournaments, including four top-fives...shot an opening-round 64 at the Lone Star Invitational (San Antonio, Texas) that tied for the third-lowest single-round score in school history...and helped the team to a first-place finish in that event...improved his stroke average by 2.27 from the previous season...an All-Mountain West selection for the second time in three years...named to the 2012 Division I PING All-West Region team by the Golf Coaches Asssociation of America...a 2012 Cleveland Golf/Srixon Golf All-America Scholar...also named an All-Academic Mountain West Selection as well as an MW Scholar-Athlete...named the 2011-12 Lobo Club Male Student-Athlete of the Year.
2010-11 (SOPHOMORE): Competed in 14 tournaments with an average score of 74.1 in 41 rounds...Recorded a low round score of 67 at theJohn A. Burns Intercollegiate in mid-February...Had his best finish at the Golfweek Conference Challenge September 19-21, where he finished tied ninth with a four-under par score...Tallied seven top-25 finishes, including a stretch of four to finish the season...Had three rounds scoring below seventy.
2009-10 (FRESHMAN): Named Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year and was named to the All-MWC team...Posted a 73.31 stroke average through 35 rounds...Won all three of his matches during the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship, propelling the Lobos to the team title...Had 14 wins against golfers ranked in the Top 25, 26 against the Top 50 and 47 against the Top 100...Completed the season ranked No. 176 nationally...Played in 13 varsity events, notching seven top-25 finishes, including a fifth-place finish at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate.
