New Mexico Captures Second Top-5 Finish to End Fall SeasonBaylor IntercollegiatePhoto Gallery | Team Results DALLAS - When the sun finally came out at the Royal Oaks Country Club after two days of steady, sometimes violent rainstorms, the University of New Mexico men's golf team found a way to put the finishing touches on a top-5 finish at the Baylor Intercollegiate. The Lobos closed the three-round event with a final-round, 2-under-par 282 - their second-best team score of the fall season. New Mexico finished with a 14-over-par 866 total score to close the Invitational, leaving them in a tie for fourth place with host Baylor and one stroke behind third-place Iowa. 10/27/2009

The Lobos posted a 9-over-par 293 Tuesday morning to close the second round, putting them at 16-over and tied for fourth place heading into the third and final round. 10/26/2009

Thunderstorms in the Dallas area have dropped over four inches of rain on the Royal Oaks Country Club overnight. The rain combined with wind gusts up to 25 miles-per-hour to provide conditions course marshals deemed unfit for further play. 10/26/2009

The Lobos enter the second round in second place, six strokes behind leader Texas A&M. New Mexico's John Catlin shot a 2-under 69 in the first round and is currently tied for fourth place at even-par through five holes of the second round, one shot behind co-leaders Vince India (Iowa), Joakim Mikkelsen (Baylor) and Cameron Peck (Texas A&M). New Mexico Closes Fall at Baylor IntercollegiateBaylor IntercollegiateComplete Men's Golf Notes The University of New Mexico men's golf team concludes its fall schedule at the 2009 Baylor Intercollegiate, played Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 26-27 at Dallas' Royal Oaks Country Club. The 54-hole event features 36 holes played in a shotgun format on Monday and the final 18, seeded based on Monday's results, played Tuesday. The Lobos tee off at 7:30 a.m. MST on Monday. |
