New Mexico JV Leads Falcon Invitational

USAF Academy, Colo. - The University of New Mexico junior varsity men's golf team is currently leading the 18-team Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at nine under par with a two round total of 567 (287, 280). The Lobos lead is two strokes over the University of Texas-San Antonio after 36-holes of play at the par 72, 7301 yard, Eisenhower-Blue Course in USAF Academy, Colo.
Individually for New Mexico, Jeb Gruenberger leads the way at four under par (72-68=140) to tie for fourth. Tyler Symons, Chase Thomas and Jim Anderson are also in the top 15. Symons is three under (72-69=141), tied for seventh, Thomas is one under (73-70=143) tied for 11th and Anderson is one over (70-75=145) tied for 15th. Miguel Griego rounds out the team tied for 20th at two over (73-73=146).
The overall individual lead is held by Mike Mezei of the University of Texas-San Antonio at seven under (66-71=137), with Kenny Ebalo of Southern Utah and Luke Swilor of Utah just two strokes back.
The Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational will conclude tomorrow with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. Mountain Time.
