Former University of New Mexico golfer Spencer Levin had the best opening round of his PGA career Thursday, firing a 62 to finish 10 under par at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego.

Levin, who played two years at UNM (the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons), played a bogey-free round and had 10 threes on his scorecard to share the first-round lead with Kyle Stanely at the PGA event.
