Lobos Leap Into 2nd Place At National Invitational Tourney

Tucson, Arizona -- Just one day after sitting in 9th place at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, the UNM men's golf team made a monumental seven-place jump into second place with one day of competition remaining.

As a team, the Lobos (580, +4) trail only host Arizona, which is eight strokes in front (572, +4) and lead third place TCU and Texas (585, +9).

Michael Letzig stayed solid for the Lobos, carding a 71 (-1) Monday after his 73 (+1) Sunday. He is currently tied for 9th place overall (144, E). Jay Choi also improved upon his first round score of 79 (+7) with a 70 (-2) Monday to leap from a tie for 61st place into a tie for 26th.
