Men's Golf: Lobos 19 Back At ASU Invitational
Tempe, Arizona -- In Tempe, the UNM men's golf team rebounded from a first-round team score of 289 with a second-round 281 to put itself in 11th place overall, 19 strokes behind team leader Arizona State.

Michael Letzig tied a career-low with a 64 in the second round after he carded an uncharacteristic 74 in round one. He currently sits tied for 7th place overall.

Ian Medlock shot matching scores of 72 and is currently tied for 48th place. Madalitso Muthiya shot the Lobos' best round (2-under par 70) after 18 holes but struggled late with a 77 in round two to leave him tied for 76th place. Derek Abel (73-75148, +4) is tied for 83rd place and Jay Choi (79-70-149, +5) rounds out the Lobo individuals as he is tied for 89th place overall.

With 18 holes to play, the Lobos (570, -6) are only three strokes out of the top 10. They trail 2nd-ranked Texas (9th place) by just four strokes and BYU (6th place) by seven strokes. Team leader Arizona State (551, -25) leads second place Pepperdine (557, -19) by six strokes.
