UC Irvine fired a final round total of one-under par 287 on Tuesday to earn a one-stroke victory over host Pepperdine at the 12-team Club Glove Intercollegiate contested at the Saticoy Country Club in Somis, Calif.

The Lobos finished in fourth place at 887, 21 shots behind Irvine. UC Irvine's Jeff Coburn defeated Lobo freshman Jae Choi in a one-hole playoff to claim the individual title. Coburn recorded a par on the first hole.

Both players established a tournament mark by carding five-under par totals of 211.

Oklahoma recovered from an opening round total of 303 to finish third overall with a team total of 884, followed by the Lobos and UCLA (889).

In the national Golfweek poll released yesterday, New Mexico was ranked No. 3, UCLA was No. 5 and Oklahoma checked in at No. 18.
