Men's Soccer Announces 2009 ScheduleUniversity of New Mexico head men's soccer coach Jeremy Fishbein has announced the 2009 Lobo schedule today. The Lobos will take on the nations best and start their quest for another Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Conference title and an NCAA Tournament berth. Standing in their way is one of the toughest schedules the Lobos have faced in school history. New Mexico will take on nine 2008 NCAA Tournament teams and will see six of them in their first seven matches.5/26/2009
STEVENS: Ex-Lobo Goalies Battling It Out for MLS Playing TimeTwo former New Mexico goalies, Andrew Weber and Mike Graczyk, are battling it out for playing time with the San Jose Earthquakes of the Major League Soccer. Right now, Weber is listed No. 2 and Graczyk is San Jose's No. 3 goalie. Both ex-Lobos have plans to move up the roster. "It's a lot like it was in college. Mike is trying to do the same thing I'm doing. We're both trying to get on the field," said Weber, who was a Lobo senior starter when Graczyk was a UNM freshman keeper.5/22/2009
Men's Soccer Adds Two More to 2009 RosterUniversity of New Mexico head men's soccer coach Jeremy Fishbein has announced the signing of two players to the 2009 Lobo men's soccer roster. Inking National Letters of Intent to play Lobo soccer are Johan Bergstrom from Hofors, Sweden and Brendon Boucard from St. Ann's, Trinidad. There will be four levels of camps that offer a variety of skill sessions and team building exercises. Men's Soccer Falls 2-0 to Colorado Rapids of the MLSThe University of New Mexico men's soccer team gave up two goals in the first half and lost 2-0, to the Colorado Rapids at Dick Sporting Goods Park today. The Lobos shutdown the Rapid attack in the second half and didn't allow a goal. The exhibition wraps up the Lobos spring play who finished 3-0-2 against collegiate competition. |
