Scouting The Opponents

Lobos Against Saint Louis ... The Billikens lead the series 2-1-0. New Mexico won the last meeting in St. Louis, 3-0 on Sept. 1, 2009. It is SLU's first trip to Albuquerque.

Scouting No. 25 Saint Louis (2009 - 15-7-0; 7-2-0 A-10) ... The Billikens return seven starters from last season's second-place Atlantic-10 team. Junior Mike Roach is the top returning scorer with 11 goals in 2009. Mike McGinty is in his first year as head coach.

Lobos Against UC Santa Barbara ... The Lobos lead the series 5-4-0. UNM won the last meeting 2-1 in Albuquerque on Sept. 16, 2007. The Lobos have won two of the last three meetings.

Scouting No. 5 UC Santa Barbara (2009 - 17-5-2; 8-1-1 Big West; play Cal State Bakersfield on Sept. 1) ... The Guachos return 17 letterwinners from last season's NCAA Third Round team. Tim Vom Steeg is in his 12th season as head coach.
