He broke a bone in his wrist during his third event and missed the back end of the fall season. Prior to UNM Iftikhar is a 2010 graduate of the Howard of Effingham in Guildford, United Kingdom. He has played in Davis Cup for Pakistan against Hong Kong, China as well as South Korea. Personal He is the son of Lindsay Iftikhar and has one sister Anoosha. His hobbies are exercising and reading. His greatest thrill while participating in sports is that he looks forward to the competition. He plans to major in Philosophy. Head Coach Alan Dils on Iftikhar: "I'm really looking for him to have a big break this year than last year. He was a starter once he got healthy from his wrist. He was in our lineup every day. He was in the lower end of the lineup last year. I'm looking for him to be in the upper end of the lineup. I think if he gets out there and stays healthy, he is another guy with a tremendous amount of passion and is very fit. He is improving his court sense and knowledge of the game and continues to do that. I think we will see him in our top end of the lineup." |
