Lobos Close Twin-Cities Trip with 5-2 Loss to WashingtonMINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- The University of New Mexico men's tennis team wrapped up its trip to the Twin Cities Saturday afternoon, dropping its second match of the weekend, 5-2 to 22nd-ranked Washington at the Minnesota's Baseline Tennis Center. With the loss, the 54th-ranked Lobos fall to 3-6 on the season, while the Huskies improve to 12-1. New Mexico saw freshman Jadon Phillips and sophomore Joe Wood each notch match wins in singles' play Saturday, accounting for the Lobos' two points. New Mexico lost each of the three doubles' matches to concede the singles' point.3/6/2010
Lobos Fall at Minnesota, 7-0MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- The University of New Mexico men's tennis team stumbled in its attempt to upset Minnesota Friday afternoon at the Baseline Tennis Center, dropping all nine doubles and singles matches to the 46th-ranked Golden Gophers en route to a 7-0 defeat. It's the first time the Lobos lose to the Aggies since April 9, 2000, and only the 10th time in 97 matches between the two programs. Lobos Kick off Six-Match Road Trip at New Mexico StateThe 57th-ranked University of New Mexico men's tennis team hits the road Saturday afternoon, heading to Las Cruces, N.M. to take on interstate rival New Mexico State. The Lobos hit the court at the NMSU Tennis Center at 1 P.M. MST. The Lobos (3-3) look to pick up a win against the 73rd-ranked Aggies on the first seven matches on the road. The match against New Mexico State will be the first outdoors for the Lobos this spring. The Aggies are 3-2 this spring.
