Lobos Travel to Compete Against #69 Miami and #58 Texas Tech

The Lobos secured the doubles point after both teams won at #1 and #2. At the third court, the Lobos edged the Wildcats 9-8 (7-4). The Lobos had two three set matches in singles and had three tiebreak sets. Leading the Lobos in singles is senior Jadon Phillips with a dual match record of 8-3. The senior is currently on a seven win streak and in his last 10 appearances, he is 7-3. Following behind him is fellow senior Conor Berg with a record of 5-4. Top doubles team for the Lobos is the duo of James Hignett and Riaan Du Toit with a dual match record of 5-3. #69 Miami, #58 Texas Tech: Miami is currently ranked 69 in the country, a spot that New Mexico previously held last week. Miami (6-3) suffered its first loss at home after falling to #62 North Florida 5-2. Leading the team in singles is Wilfredo Gonzalez with a 7-2 dual match record and he is currently on a five win streak. Following behind him are William Albanese and Gabriel Flores both with six wins. #58 Texas Tech, previously #27 last week defeated Tulane in their territory with a score of 6-1. Texas Tech finished the 2012 spring season with a 15-8 overall record going undefeated at home 8-0. They had two singles players nationally ranked at least five times last year and had four doubles teams ranked nationally at least once. Next up: The Lobos will play at home at the Linda Estes Tennis Complex on March 8-9, 2013 to face DePaul and New Mexico State with both matches starting at 12:00 p.m. MT
