From the U: So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Good NightIn less than 72 hours, school will be in session. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like their summer ran just a tad bit too short? Either way, the summer is over and it is time to begin a new semester now that our brains have rested, and a new season now that our bodies have been pumping that iron! All of my teammates are moving back to Albuquerque and are just as excited as I am to begin this new year. We have high expectations, like we do every year, so we're ready to work hard in this pre-season to meet those expectations.

Despite early morning workouts, four hours of class, and study hall on top of all that, Jasmine is anxious to return to the college life.Ever since beginning her basketball career in the second grade, Jasmine's love for the game has never disappeared. "It relieves a lot of stress. I know that when I'm going through something, as soon as I step on the court everything is cleared," Jasmine said. Jasmine has been playing basketball with current Lobo teammate, Brianna Taylor, since they first began playing together as kids. They refer to each other as sisters, both reign from Palo Duro High School, and have stuck together through it all. On August 23, they will begin their college career together. 8/9/2010

From the U: Part Four of Five Freshmen Introductions, Featuring Erin BoettcherNine years ago, Erin Boettcher gave up the game of kicking a black and white ball with your feet for the game of throwing a big orange ball into a basket. And all because her mother told her she was too tall to play soccer. Well, it's a good thing she stuck with the orange ball because freshman center Erin Boettcher will have the opportunity to make an impact on the inside this year for the University of New Mexico.7/30/2010
