Mike Terry begins his second year at the University of New Mexico as an assistant coach. His duties include working with Lobo guards during practice, assisting with recruiting, film breakdown and scouting of opponents and community relations and film exchange. Terry joined the Lobo women's program after six seasons at The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida. This is Terry's first collegiate coaching stint. "We are very excited to have Mike Terry as part of the UNM women's basketball family," head coach Don Flanagan said. "He has done a great job building a prominent national high school program and has helped develop outstanding college athletes." Terry spent six season as co-head coach at The Benjamin School and led them to three 2A state titles, sharing duties with his wife Ronnalee. While at The Benjamin School, Terry amassed a record of 153-31, including a perfect 60-0 record in district play. He also led them to six consecutive district titles, six consecutive regional finals and six straight final fours. Terry has also developed college-level talent at both The Benjamin School and in four years with the AAU program, including the last three years with one of the nation's highest profile club teams the "Florida Starzz." That program produced three WBCA High School All-Americans and two McDonald's All-Americans. Terry has either coached or helped develop 25 players in college today. "I am very excited to be a part of a winning college program and learning from some of the best coaches in the country," Terry said. "I am thrilled to be a part of such a great program and working with some terrific people." Terry is a native of Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with degrees in Human Kinetics and Secondary Education. Terry is married to Ronnalee and they have a daughter Charlotte, who is four. |
