Lobo Women's Basketball Hosts TCU Saturday for

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The New Mexico women's basketball team will host TCU Saturday at 1: 30 p.m. MT live on CBS College Sports. Saturday will be the "Pack the Pit" promotion with all tickets $4. The Lobos (12-7, 4-3 MWC) are coming off a big upset over BYU on the road and will host the league-leading Lady Frogs in The Pit. TCU is 15-4 overall and 5-1 in league play. Ann Schatz and Tammy Blackburn will call the action on CBS CS. The game can be seen on Comcast channel 274, DirecTV 613 and Dish Network 152 in Albuquerque. A live broadcast of the game can be found on 610 AM The Sports Animal. GameTracker and live video streaming will be available on GoLobos.com. New Mexico leads the all-time series with TCU 7-6 but has lost three of the last four meetings. The Lobos defeated the Lady Frogs 75-63 last year in The Pit. Don Flanagan is 5-1 at home against TCU. UNM is 3-3 this year when playing on TV. The Lobos beat New Mexico State twice and won at BYU Wednesday. UNM is 13-34 all-time against nationally-ranked opponents. The last upset over a Top 25 foe for New Mexico was on March 4, 2006 when the No. 21 Lobos knocked off No. 18 BYU inside The Pit. New Mexico has upset three teams ranked in the top 10. The biggest upset in school history was when the Lobos beat No. 8 Texas Tech, 74-65, inside The Pit on Nov. 30, 2001. The Lobos are coming off a 60-57 victory over BYU and hope to keep that momentum going Saturday. UNM will be looking for its second straight conference win and a chance to be 5-3 in the Mountain West Conference. New Mexico will have a tough chore with TCU coming to town. The Lady Frogs have won 10 of their last 11 games including three straight.

LOBOS LAST OUTING UNM tied a school record with six turnovers in the game compared to 14 by the Cougars. The New Mexico senior class has never lost at BYU (4-0). The Lobos jumped out early in the first half. New Mexico hit seven 3-pointers and nailed 10-of-27 shots from the field in the opening period. UNM held a 35-29 halftime lead despite BYU's late rally.
SCOUTING TCU The Lady Frogs are rolling with three straight blowout wins. TCU routed Colorado State Wednesday with a 78-51 victory in Fort Worth. The Lady Frogs are 4-3 on the road this year and 2-1 in league play. Carter is averaging 18.3 points per game during conference action. Starr Crawford is the main rebounder with 8.7 boards per contest in league play. Crawford is averaging 9.9 points and 9.2 rebounds per game as a freshman. TCU shot 46.9 percent from the field against CSU and hit six 3-pointers. The Lady Frogs are a 74.3 percent free throw shooting team and hit 12-of-15 vs. the Rams.
