Women's Basketball 2012-13 Schedule Is Now Complete
Aug. 10, 2012
With the release of the Mountain West conference schedule, the University of New Mexico women's basketball 2012-13 schedule is complete. Earlier this week, Head Coach Yvonne Sanchez released the Lobos' non-conference schedule. The opening segment of the upcoming season includes games versus Georgia, Arizona, Colorado and St. Bonaventure among others.
Coach Sanchez and company will open Mountain West play on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at UNLV. It's part of a two-game road trip to open conference play, which also includes a date at league newcomer Fresno State on Saturday, January 12th. The Lobos will always play conference foes on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The opening weekend of conference play is only one of two weeks where the cherry & silver play both games away from The Pit. Every other week of Mountain West play features at least one game in the friendly confines of The Pit.
The Lobos will play their conference home opener on Wednesday, January 16 as they host Boise State. The balance of New Mexico's conference schedule keeps the Lobos in Albuquerque for no more than two consecutive home games.
UNM will wrap up their Mountain West schedule with a pair of home games in early March. They first host Nevada on Wednesday, March 6th before Air Force comes to Albuquerque on Saturday, March 9th.
Three days after New Mexico's match up with Air Force, the Mountain West Women's Basketball Tournament will begin at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year's tournament dates are March 12 - 16.
