SUMMER 2008: Part of the six-member contingent that placed 2nd in the Swedish National Team Championship on her home course at Ljunghusen Golf Club...finished in a tie for 31st place at the Felix Finnish Open, a professional event that is part of the SAS Masters Tour...competing as an amateur, Backstedt finished at 16-over 229 (74-77-78)...she had the fourth-lowest score among the 26 amateurs competing in the field of 83.

JUNIOR (2007-08): Competed in every tournament, a total of 29 rounds...first team all-MWC after finishing tied for 6th in the conference championships in Albuquerque...shot an 8-over 227...76.96 stroke average for the year...low round was consecutive 71s at the Las Vegas Showdown in the fall when she finished tied for 10th...tied for 4th at the rain-shortened Betsy Rawls Invitational in the spring...named to the 2007-08 National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team.

SOPHOMORE (2006-07): One of three Lobos to compete in every tournament and helped guide UNM to the NCAA Championships...had a 76.69 scoring average in 33...low round was a 70 on three occasions...finished in the top-20 four times, including a third place finish at the Landfall Tradition tournament in the fall.

FRESHMAN (2005-06): Began her Lobo career like she would be one of the best golfers in school history...set the school season scoring record at 73.40...honorable mention All-America, 1st team all-Mountain West Conference and co-Freshman of the Year in the MWC after tying for 1st at the league championships...scoring average ranked 2nd in the MWC and 23rd in the final Golfstat Cup national standings...was No. 35 in Golfweek's individual poll with a rating of 72.93...won the NMSU Intercollegiate in the fall in a 1-hole playoff, becoming the first freshman in the history of UNM women's golf to win a tournament...produced eight top-10 finishes in 10 total tournaments...tied for 1st in the nation with 3 eagles...summer got off to a good start when she tied for 4th (out of 144 golfers) at the Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship at Royal County Down Golf Club in Northern Ireland...she shot a 4-under 146.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Sunds High School under coach Per Johansson...played on the Swedish National Team...medalist in one event on the Telia Tour, which is part of the Swedish Professional National Tour...also finished runner-up and in third place on two other events on the same tour...played in the Junior Solheim Cup...was a member of the winning European Championship girls team in 2004 and the team finished 2nd in 2003...also won the Danish Junior Championship.
