NEW MEXICO: Phelps enters her senior season as one of the top returners in 2007-08. JUNIOR (2006-07): Phelps played in 10 events last year for the Lobos and competed in every tournament last spring ... recorded her best finish and low score in a 54-hole event at the Stanford Intercollegiate Tournament, where she placed tied for 17th and carded a 217 ... Phelps was consistantly in the lineup for the Lobos and helped guide UNM back to the NCAA national championships in May ... finished the year with a 77.77 scoring average ... captured her three Albuquerque Women's City Championship during the summer. SOPHOMORE (2005-06): Phelps participated in all but one tournament (Landfall Tradition) in 2005-06 ... ranked 13th in the Mountain West Conference with a scoring average of 76.53, which is 3.40 shots better than her freshman season of 79.93 ... tied for 17th at the MWC Championships at 15-over 231 (80-74-77) ... low round of the season was 70 in the second round of the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson ... shot 217 (+4) at the Wildcat Invite, the lowest 54 total of her career ... fired a 71 (2-under) in the second round of the Dick McGuire Invitational, which led to a final score of 3-over 222, Phelps' low score in relation to par for 54 holes ... won the 2006 Albuquerque Women's City Championship over the summer. FRESHMAN (2004-05): Finished 23rd in the Mountain West with a 79.93 average her freshman season ... playing as an individual, she tied for 65th at the Dick McGuire Invitational in her first collegiate tournament ... entered the starting lineup for the first time in her career at the NCAA Fall Preview, firing a 37-over 250 ... shot a 25-over 235 at the Stanford Intercollegiate ... impressive ninth-place showing at the Gamecock Classic after carding a 236 (+20) ... carded a 242 to place 84th at the PING/Arizona State Invitational ... named a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete. HIGH SCHOOL: Phelps won the 2004 Class 5A state golf championship ... also won the 2004 Albuquerque Women's City Championship, shooting a three-day total of 213 ... earned the Albuquerque Tribune Lighthouse Award/Athlete of the Year for girl's golf ... captain and No. 1 player on her high school team all four years ... garnered all-city, all-district and all-state honors all four years ... tied for 35th out of 127 golfers at the 2003 Junior World Golf Championships while representing the state of New Mexico ... has also participated in the 2003 Optimist Junior World Classic and the AJGA Southwestern ... also lettered in soccer in addition to earning an academic letter ... member of the 2002 state championship soccer team.
