DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --- The 19th-ranked New Mexico women's golf team fell to 20th place in the NCAA National Championships Wednesday after carding a 26-over par in the second round at the LPGA International Legends Golf Course. Freshman Jodi Ewart fired a 4-over par 76 to highlight UNM on the second day. The Lobos have 36 holes remaining to play in the tournament as they continue to compete against the nation's top programs.

Ewart (76-76=152) is tied for 36th individually and is 8-over par 152 for the event. Juniors Giselle Claux and Alexandra Phelps are tied for 63rd overall with a tournament total of 155. Claux was 9-over par 81 in the second round, while Phelps shot a 5-over par 77. Sophomore Py Bengtsson was 9-over par 81 and Mikaela Backstedt shot an 80 to finish at 8-over. Bengtsson is tied for 87th, while Backstedt is tied at 111th.

Duke leads the event at 11-over par, while UCLA is second with a team scored of 18-over par and Purdue is third at 21-over par. Boilermaker Christel Boeljon is the individual leader at 3-under par after shooting a 69 in the second round. Stacy Lewis from Arkansas is second at 2-under par with multiple players tied at 1-under.
