Santa Clarita, Calif. -- The 13th-ranked University of New Mexico women's golf team jumps one spot into fourth place at the 2003 Pioneer Electronics UCLA Women’s Golf Classic. The Lobos head into final round action with a total score of 613 (306-307), nine shots behind tournament leader Southern California (604). Sophomore Kailin Downs remains the Lobo leader tied for eighth place with a 151 (73-78).

Rounding out the top five teams include Pepperdine (609), California (611), New Mexico (613), and the UCLA “B” team and Texas Tech who are tied for fifth with 620s.

UNM junior Kristi Larsen shaved off six strokes off her first round 79 to shoot 73 (+1) on the day. Larsen is tied for 11th place with a tournament score of 152. Junior Katrina Leckovic follows closely behind and is tied for 16th place with a 153 (75-78). Sophomore Christina Spence is tied for 36th with a 157 (79-78) while fellow sophomore Shannon Johnson is tied for 66th with a 163 (80-83).

The final round will be played tomorrow morning with a shotgun start at the Robinson Ranch Valley Course which plays to a par 72 on 6,254 yards.
