Tempe, Ariz. -- The 11th ranked University of New Mexico women’s golf team are tied with instate rival New Mexico State for sixth place after the second round of the PING/ASU Invitational. The Lobos shot a second round 305 and head into the final round with a tournament score of 601.

New Mexico’s Kailin Downs leads the wolfpack with a two-round score of 147 (71-76 • +3) which places her tied for 10th. Junior Kristi Larsen shot a second round 77 and heads into the final round with a 150 (73-77 • +6). Larsen is tied for 25th place.

Sophomore Christina Spence scored a second round 76 and totals 153 (+9) through two rounds. Spence is tied for 43rd. Junior Katrina Leckovic shot a second round 79 and totals 154 (+10) for the tournament and is tied for 51st. Sophomore Shannon Johnson shaved eight shots off her first round 84 to shoot 76 for the day. Johnson’s two round score of 160 places her tied for 77th.

The final round begins tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. (MST) at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe. The course plays to a par 72 on 6,143 yards.
