ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - For the second straight year, senior Lobo women's golfer Kailin Downs has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI Women's At-Large Team as selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). Downs, who earned third-team Academic All-America honors last year, is now eligible for Academic All-America status this season. Downs owns a 3.77 GPA in Business Administration.

Downs, a two-time Mountain West Golfer of the Year and four-time all-conference honoree, closed her career with a 74.38 scoring average, which is the best in the history of the Lobo women's golf program. She finished her senior season with a 74.67 average, just percentage points short of establishing a new senior record at UNM. The Bend, Ore., product owns the sophomore and junior scoring-average marks at New Mexico. She led the Lobos to their 13th consecutive postseason appearance this season as UNM gained a berth in the NCAA Central Regionals.
