UNM sophomore Morgan Grantham finishes championship in the round of 16

PUEBLO, Colo. - University of New Mexico women's golfer Morgan Grantham advanced to the round of 16 at the 30th U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship Friday at the par-72, 6,263-yard Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, Colo. Grantham defeated Jessica Steward, 2 and 1, in match play to advance to the third round. Grantham matched up with Mina Harigae in the round of 16 and fell, 5 and 4.

The Kingman, Ariz., native finishes the championship after four days of competition. Grantham shot a 152 to qualify for the field on Tuesday and Wednesday. She was one of 64 to quality for match-play.

The Championship will continue Saturday with the quarterfinals and semifinals with the finals being played on Sunday. For more information about the championship visit www.uswapl.org.
