ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--- UNM women's golf sophomore standout Jodi Ewart earned recognition from Golf World earlier this week when they announced their mid-season awards. Golf World predicted that Ewart would be the best player you'll hear of by season's end. Ewart is currently leads the Mountain West Conference with a scoring average of 73.17.

Ewart, who was an All-American as a true freshman, is currently ranked 19th in the country according to Golfweek. Ewart's best round this fall came in the Stanford Intercollegiate when she shot a 69 in the opening round. In four tournaments this fall, Ewart has finished in the top 15 in every event. Ewart's highest finish this fall came in the Las Vegas Showdown where she finished tied for 11th.

Ewart and the rest of her Lobos open spring competition at the Wildcat Invitational on February 25, in Tucson, Ariz. UNM heads into spring competition ranked 24th nationally according to Golfweek. UNM will return home when they host the Mountain West Conference Championship on April 17-19. The NCAA Championships are also slated to take place at the UNM Championship Golf Course from May 20-23 in Albuquerque.
