BSU topped the Lobos, 13-0 on Sunday. LOBO CAREER NOTES - Played in 150 games and made 118 starts throughout her four years at UNM...had 78 hits, scored 55 runs, drove in 47 and recorded 13 stolen bases....had a total of 24 extra-base hits, including nine doubles, four triples and 11 home runs...defensively, recorded 118 putouts and six assists while committing just five errors in four seasons...led the team in home runs (7) her senior year...along with her foot speed and strong throwing arm, is respected by the team for her work ethic and mental toughness...her ability to lighten the mood and be goofy while still taking care of business is also appreciated...a biochemistry major, Cassie is a two-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree and a three-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete award recipient...was named an All-America Scholar Athlete by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association in 2011 and was also named to the CapitalOne Academic All-District second team that season. SENIOR YEAR (2013) - Saw action in 51 games and started 49, mostly in right field...had one of the best seasons of her career as she led the team and finished tied for eighth in the Mountain West for home runs with seven...hit .258, recording 34 hits in 132 at-bats...scored 23 runs and drove in 22...drew a team-high 24 walks...had eight multi-hit games and led the team in multi-RBI games with seven... was selected as the conference Player of the Week for her performance in the Boise State series (April 5-7) as she homered and hit .600, going 3-for-5 at the plate...also scored three runs and drove in another three while leading UNM to its first conference series win since 2011...her homer in the series was a walk-off in the opening game against the Broncos - a long shot over the right-field fence...named the Lobos' Offensive Player of the Year.
JUNIOR YEAR (2012) - Started four games and appeared in 24, most often as a pinch hitter or runner...had one hit, one RBI while drawing five walks in 11 at-bats...scored 11 runs...recipient of the 2011-12 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Award with a 3.66 GPA. SOPHOMORE YEAR (2011)-Appeared in 28 games, starting 20 for the Lobos in the outfield...compiled a .947 fielding percentage...had 12 hits, including three doubles, one triple, two home runs and notched nine RBI...recipient of the Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Award with a 3.95 gpa...recipient of the MW Academic All-Conference Award for spring 2011...named to the Capital One Academic All-District Second Team (District VI). FRESHMAN YEAR (2010)- Started in 45 games out of 47 games played in the outfield for the Lobos...hit .248 with 31 hits in 125 at-bats in her first collegiate season...had 16 RBIs, scored 13 runs and had nine stolen bases as a freshman...hit five doubles, a triple and two home runs. HIGH SCHOOL-An all-around athlete, Cassie played softball, basketball, and volleyball in high school...played softball under head coach Bobby Dallas at Buhach High School in Atwater, Calif. ...team was a member of the Central California Conference...first team all-league and first team all-district (softball), first team all-league in basketball...was the Valedictorian of her high school class. PERSONAL-Born January 17, 1991 in Merced, Calif. ...enjoys reading and snowboarding...favorite food is Mexican and favorite athlete is Clay Matthews...has a brother, Jared (24) and a sister, Juliana (15)...majoring in biochemistry.
