Liz Young graduated from UNM in 2009 and departed the university to pursue a collegiate coaching career. She served as the volunteer assistant coach in 2009 at New Mexico and worked two years on the UNM coaching staff. Young was a student assistant in 2008 and assisted the coaching staff on a daily basis in 2009. Young entered the front office after being a two-year starter behind the plate for New Mexico. During her two seasons at UNM, Young never missed a game and started all 104 contests. Young finished her career with a .187 batting average, 48 hits, two home runs and 29 RBI. Behind the plate, Young was one of the top catchers to wear a Lobo uniform. She currently ranks second on the all-time most caught stealing by with 28 and owns the single-season record for most thrown out runners with 20. She is a native of Las Vegas, Nev., and recently finished her undergraduate degree. |
