STEVENS: Jennifer Ogee Adds National Championship Experience to the Lobo Softball StaffThe softball roots of Jennifer Ogee are pedigree, the real stuff. She has performed at the highest level on the diamond both as a player and as a coach. She has been-there, done-that behind the plate, at the plate, and also in the coaching box. She has played and coached in a national championship game at Washington. She was a member of the U.S. National Team. She helped mold the Nebraska Cornhuskers into one of the top hitting teams in the Big 12. It's difficult to decide which part of Ogee's history in softball will be the most impressive to current and future Lobos. One thing is for sure: the Lobos have landed an diamond with a outfield of knowledge to share and pass on to UNM players.6/19/2009

STEVENS: Lobo Softball Camp Full of Young Girls With a Common MissionThe mission on the fields of swinging bats was pretty much universal for the 50-plus girls enjoying the sun and the instruction at Lobo coach Ty Singleton's Lobo Softball Camp on Monday: Get Better. Just about everywhere you looked at Lobo Field there was a young face showing intense determination and concentration in the no-so-gentle art of putting bat on ball. There were thumps everywhere as the young players listened to the sound advice and made louder sounds with their bats.6/5/2009

STEVENS: Lobo Softball Concludes Significant Season In Rebuilding YearA cherry atop any season can be found in how a team finishes at home, finishes on the road, and finishes the final year of competition for its seniors. The young University of New Mexico Lobo softball team batted 1,000 in these three categories and blessed its two seniors -- Samantha "Sammi" Hughes and Analise Rubalcava -- with a special ending to their four campaigns in Lobo Cherry & Silver uniforms. |
