Lobos Land Seven on NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Seven members of the 2011-12 University New Mexico softball team were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athletes for their efforts in the classroom, as announced by the Association on Thursday. Lobos Shenise Cox, Kaela DeBroeck, Sheryl Guillermo, Ally Hakeem, Kaity Ingram, Jessica Lujan-Dresslar and Jordan Sjostrand were recognized by the NFCA for achieving a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2011-12 academic year. Thousands of student-athletes representing almost 600 academic institutions across Divisions I, II and III as well as NAIA, NJCAA and high school were recognized as 2011-12 NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes. The membership category with the most participating institutions this year proved to be Division I with 140, while Division III was second by boasting 134 teams and high school ranked third with 123.
