Position:
Head Diving Coach

Jeff DiNicola begins his third season as head diving coach for the University of New Mexico. DiNicola took over a UNM program that had been non-existent the previous five years. He had three divers on his squad in 2000-01 and one of them, freshman Tracey Berghian, qualified for the 2001 Diving Zones.

DiNicola's second season was also a success. Freshman Becca Barras and sophomore Tracey Berghian combined to elevate the status and the performance of the UNM diving program. The pair executed well at the MWC Championships, with Barras capturing second place overall. As a result of their scores throughout the year, Barras and Berghian advanced to the 2002 Diving Zones where they proved that they could compete with the top divers in the country.

In 1999-2000, DiNicola was the head diving coach at his alma mater, Southwest Missouri State University, where he was named Missouri Valley Conference Diving Coach of the Year in his first season of coaching. He coached a male MVC Diver of the Year, while one of his female divers placed second on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.

DiNicola was a four-year letter winner in diving at SMS, and was named MVC Diver of the Year twice while earning All-MVC honors three consecutive years. As a senior, he set a SMS pool record on the 3-meter event, posting a score of 328.55.

A native of Forth Worth Texas, DiNicola was a three-year letterman at Southwest High School.
